about

Mahlon Evans-Sinclair is an experienced educator and EDI consultant with extensive participation in the fields of learning, professional & personal development.

As an educator, Mahlon’s practice focuses on the Humanities/Social sciences and prior to leaving the UK, he led two successful Humanities faculties in inner-London schools, placing top 1% and highest-ranking school nationally for student progress. He's developed curricula for initial and continuing teacher training, notably designing PD to support the development of 2,000+ principals and teachers across 11 countries, while incorporating concepts of equity and diversity as well as tools of application.

Since leaving the UK for Toronto in 2018, Mahlon initially stepped into consulting to hone his coaching skills and expertise across a range of organizational bodies. As an EDI facilitator, Mahlon has used his skills, knowledge and expertise to train, coach and devise tools of support for individuals and organisations in understanding differences of identity and the benefit that engaging with these can be had in the workplace environment.

Mahlon identifies as a Black, Queer man and is passionate about representation. His podcast project ‘Educating While Black’, created in 2020 seeks to spotlight the experience of vulnerability and resilience of Black leaders in the workplace, while providing explanations to prompt reflection of daily practices in education.

In 2021 he returned to education as the Director of EDI and enjoys using this opportunity to make understanding differences in expression and identity accessible, while remaining steadfast on creating intentional and equitable approaches to inclusion.
